Clothes Make the Man

There’s an old saying that goes, “Clothes make the man.”  That’s as true in bass fishing as it is in any other part of life, but maybe for different reasons. The first one is safety.

In past blogs, we’ve talked about the importance of sunblock and sunscreen. I’m not going to repeat what I said about it other than to say that you should always use it. There are no exceptions.

It’s the same with sunglasses. Your eyes matter. Use them. Again, there are no exceptions.

The thing is, though, that we don’t think about clothing as a safety issue. We should. Good clothing will help keep the sun off of your skin and keep you from getting sunburned. Under Armour’s SPF rated clothing is great for that. It’s called Sunblock. I wear it all the time.

And, because it fits properly it’ll help keep you from tripping over the bottom of your pants or snagging your shirtsleeves on everything. Mentioning that is kind of an afterthought on my part but it’s still important. It’s hard to fish with a broken leg or arm.

And that brings us to the idea of proper fitting. When you’re fishing you need clothes that fit snug but that’ll still let you move around. Everything Under Armour makes does just that. When you look at how it fits it’s like it’s molded to your body but, because it’s designed by professionals who use it, it’ll let you move around without any restrictions. It’s pretty neat, really.

Besides all of what I just said, it looks good enough to go out and get a bite to eat with your wife or significant other. I wear it out with Becky all the time.

They also make a line of clothing called CoolSwitch that’s designed to keep you cool when it’s really hot outside. I have no idea how it works but I do know that it does work. It wicks away the sweat from your skin and somehow feels cool to the touch. I wear it on miserably hot days and it really helps.

They also have clothing materials that’ll repel a light rain and dry quickly as well as products that’ll break the wind. Actually, they have several specialty lines of clothing that’s made for any number of specific purposes depending upon your individual needs — regardless of how specialized those needs might be now or in the future.

The final thing I’m going to mention is that Under Armour clothing is actually some of the lowest priced clothing you can buy. It’s not the cheapest on the front end, maybe, but because it wears forever it ends up being the least expensive in the long run.

I have no hesitation telling you that it’s the best fishing clothing I’ve ever owned. Give it a try. It’s available almost everywhere. If you have trouble finding exactly what you need, go to their website. Everything’s there and they have good deals on shipping.
